The business program of People Incorporated Financial Services promotes economic self-sufficiency and a better quality of life for the region’s citizens through small business ownership, job creation, and asset development. People Incorporated Financial Services provides business training, technical assistance and makes business loans. The People Incorporated Financial Services program partners with the local banking community and focuses it’s services on customers who may not be eligible for banking financing.
ARE ANY BUSINESS PLANNING CLASSES OFFERED?
Yes. There are two classes offered. There is a Business Basics Planning class. The Business Basic class provides participants with an overview of business planning and enables them to understand the strategic considerations when planning to start or expand a business. The Core Four class is more extensive and focuses on how to prepare a business plan.
HOW CAN PEOPLE INCORPORATED FINANCIAL SERVICES HELP ME WITH FUNDING A BUSINESS?
The BusinesStart revolving loan fund may provide up to $100,000 for a startup or existing business. Loan proceeds can be used for working capital, inventory, equipment, and property improvements.
WILL PEOPLE INCORPORATED FINANCIAL SERVICES HELP ME ONCE I GET MY BUSINESS STARTED?
One-to-one business technical assistance is provided for PEOPLE INCORPORATED FINANCIAL SERVICES customers ona variety of business management topics to include:
- Marketing and Promotion
- Financial Management
- Operations
- Record keeping
- Legal services can be arranged if necessary.
IS LOCATION IMPORTANT?
You must locate your business or plan to locate within the following service area: the Counties of Bland, Buchanan, Carroll, Dickenson, Floyd, Grayson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Tazewell, Washington, Wise, Wythe and or in the Cities of Bristol, Galax, and Norton.
IS THERE A COST FOR THE SERVICES PROVIDED?
The Business Basics Coarse is FREE. The Core Four Planning class fee is $65. Loan closing fees vary depending on the individual loan. All one-to-one counseling is provided through funding from the U.S. Small business Association and is available to customers at no charge.
