The August 2005 issue of Golf Digest ranked Tri-Cities, Tenn./Va., as the second best region in the United States to play golf. Golf Digest compiled the rating from four criteria: accessibility (45%), weather (25%), value of golf-price (15%) and quality of golf (15%). The rating included 330 Metropolitan Statistical Areas with a population in excess of 50,000.
